One month until 40

So I have not been following my meal plan.  With the kids on Spring Break this week it was not easy.  Now I have been sick the past 2 days, so eating wasn't a priority.

Here is my dinner meal plan for the week:

  • Monday
    • Baked Chicken Fingers
    • Homemade Baked French Fries
    • Veggies
  • Tuesday
    • African Style Turkey on couscous
    • Veggies
  • Wednesday
    • Pasta and Veggies with Shrimp
    • Salad
  • Thursday
    • Kids are with their dad
  • Friday
    • Kids have a half day and Brendan and I are going to go see the Hunger Games.
  • Saturday
    • Emily has her dance competition
Hmmm...writing this out makes me think that I need to plan those 3 days.  I am going to need to pack some snacks for Saturday because I do not know how long we are going to be at the competition.  Grocery shopping is tomorrow, gotta be smart about it.

I went to a Mexican restaurant last night.  My date and I shared chicken and beef fajitas for two.  I didn't eat any chips and I only had one tortilla.  Pat on the back for me!

Busy Sunday!

So I realize that the weekends I don't have the kids, I don't eat very well.  Today it was not eating.  I got up, ate a late breakfast, then went outside all afternoon and worked in the flowerbeds.  I used this calorie calculator, thank you Jen, to figure out that I burned about 1400 calories working in yard!  I did come in and make a strawberry/pineapple smoothie before hopping in the shower.  Dinner was a chicken quesadilla with peppers and onions.

Not fabulous, but tomorrow is another day.

OK, not too bad

So me falling off the wagon didn't have as bad of an effect as I thought it would.  I didn't gain any weight.  I have been following my meal plan (except for the cake and ice cream) and this week I am down 1.8lbs so far.  I bumped up my running speed this morning - 4.6 for 6 minutes and 5 for 3 minutes.  Going to keep that up tomorrow too.  I still have 11lbs. to go before my birthday.

No dates or prospective dates.  Was messaging a guy on POF one night this week, nothing since.  I have not spoken with Mark, I had texted him and he called back, but I let it go to voicemail.  Same story, busy with work, will get with me later.  I sent him a message to get in touch with me when he had time, which he said he would have after today, and that I had no kids this weekend.  Not holding my breath.

I fell off the wagon

Well, I know I said I wasn't going to lick the bowl, but I did.  And I had some cake, twice.  Where is my will power?!  I didn't follow my meal plan at all yesterday and I have yet to eat anything today.  I am going to get off my butt now and eat something, something appropriate that is!

Nothing Changes

Hmmm...so far those six pounds are the only pounds that I have  lost.  I have been at the same weight for 5 days.  Yes, it's good that I haven't gone up, but why am I not going down?  I was really good last week about keeping my food journal, maybe that's the difference.

I did decide that once I am down the first 10 pounds I am getting a pedicure.  Thought that might be this weekend, but I guess not. :(

I will have a major test tonight and this weekend.  I have a cake to do for tomorrow night.  I usually lick the bowls and spatulas, and then eat the cake that I level off including icing to help it go down. (I know, right?!)  Not this weekend!  My son's birthday was also yesterday, so I am making a cake for him this weekend as well.  I am not going to deprive myself, but I am not going to engorge myself either.

I am still running Tuesday-Friday.  I have bumped up my max speed to 4.5 for 9 minutes.  I am wondering, which is better - higher speed or further distance?

Eating leftover lasagna for lunch.  It's from Brendan's birthday dinner at Olive Garden.  Not the healthiest choice, but I did split it in half.  Salad tonight!

The day after the Ball, Cinderella, I am not

So last night I attended the Heart Ball with my friend Alison.  I thought I looked good, but then Alison sent me this picture.  WOW, my arm is huge, my gut is out there, and I have a lot of extra face.  Do you notice I have no chest either?!  Alison's dress is at least one maybe two sizes larger, but I look so much bigger than her.  How depressing!
I started my meal plan (again) on Valentine's Day.  To this point I am down 6lbs.  My goal is to loose 20lbs. by my 40th birthday, which is 2 months from yesterday.  Hopefully Alison and I can get a picture taken then and I will see a difference!  I have got to loose this weight (again).  I don't need to be a size 8/10 again, but there is no way I am going to be happy with me at this weight.

Right or Wrong?

What am I doing?!  


Mark and I have been emailing.  He finally found the disk I loaned him over a year ago.  He asked if I felt up to dinner so he could give me the disk.  Timing hasn't worked out and I mentioned that he could come to the House of Blues to the Matt Nathanson concert.  I was shocked when he said that could work.


When is it making the wrong choice or taking a chance?

Red Wine and Dark Chocolate M&Ms

I really have to start doing something.  This weight thing is getting out of control!  Tomorrow is grocery day, so healthy meals all week!  I am pulling out my LA Weightloss book and getting back on the wagon!

I have 79 days until I turn 40 - What can I accomplish in those 79 days?

I really need to do this more often...and some horn tootin'!

Holy Moley, it's been almost 2 months since I was on here!


Just a quick update:  I am still running Tuesday-Friday every week.  I do have to admit that last week the kids were out of school on Friday so I didn't run.  We were very busy that day though!  Does that count? :)


I had a great cake weekend!  One Hello Kitty cake 


and one xbox 360 cake.

I also want to toot my own horn - I fixed my own oven!  I started to bake a couple of weeks ago and the oven wasn't working.  (Boo!)  After some encouragement from some Facebook friends, and a little investigation, I decided to get in the oven and pull out the ignitor.  It was cracked.  I then started price shopping.  Since the oven is a Kenmore, I started at Sears.  They wanted $81 for the part!  Several online retailers including Amazon were much more reasonable at between $20 and $40, and that includes expedited shipping.  Now for the cool part - I work for Habitat for Humanity and we have a ReStore (if you don't know what it is,  you need to check it out!).  A co-worker suggested I see if they had an oven they were going to junk - they did, the ignitor matched, they charged me 25 cents, and my oven was back working that afternoon!


OK, enough tooting, I must be off to bed - gotta run in the morning!
